BOARD MEETING MINUTES
January 9, 2007

PRESENT: Dan Tovar, Sandy Hyde, Bob Delveau, Brad Condon, Stan Hemsath, Christy Pierce, Pam Ayers, Jay Hansen, Aram Susong, Sharon Samec, Lisa Wall, Ron Garris, Joan Harringa, Laura Hand, Bill Winder, Diane Gearhart, Blair, Theilen, Ruth Beck, Pam St. John

The meeting was called to order by President Aram Susong.

Minutes and Treasurer’s Report from the December 12, 2006 meeting were approved (motion by Jay Hansen and second by Stan Hemsath).

President Susong thanked former officers and committees for their service during the past year. New committee assignments were discussed and a sign up sheet was passed around for board members to choose the committee of their liking. President Susong asked each board member to commit 3 hours per month to their respective KRA board membership and committee assignment. Goals for 2007 will include growth and satisfaction of membership; a quarterly newsletter and a golf outing for the membership.

Stan reported that one of the new park benches purchased by KRA would be placed near the corner of Kimball Ave and Park Lane by the new sidewalk. The landscaping project near the sidewalk was discussed. President Susong would like a special task force to work with a landscaper and we will ask for volunteers from West High School or a local Boy Scout Troop to help with the work.

Laura Hand reported that the KRA website had 783 visits in December up from 600 in November. The December hits were 9,213 up from 8,000 in November. The home page, which feature current KRA events, was a popular hit during the last two months. Laura asked to have the board members update their profiles for the website if needed.

KRA will be purchasing liability insurance from KRA member Al Smith with State Farm. Cost and coverage will be finalized later this month.

Bob Delveau was appointed chairperson for the KRA involvement with the 5K Run during My Waterloo Days.
