March Meeting Minutes
BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Jay Hansen, Aram Susong, Sharon Samec, Lisa Wall, Bill Winder, Dianne Gearhart, Ruth Beck, Pam St. John, Velda Phillips, Bob Hoppes, Laura Hand, Timi Brown

President Aram Susong called the meeting to order.
Minutes and Treasurer’s Report from the February 13, 2007 meeting were approved (motion by Velda Phillips and second by Sharon Samec for the minutes and Pam St. John and Bob Hoppes for the Treasurer’s report).
Craig Hoffman from Liberty Bank, Timi Brown and Merriam Lake from Covenant Medical were all unanimously elected to the Board (motion by Sharon Samec, seconded by Laura Hand).
Partners in Ed: Amy Schaefer filling in for Ron Garris reported that $500 had been presented to Java West and another $100 would go to Ron Garris to purchase gift certificates from various KRA merchants to award to students.
Marketing/Website: Laura Hand reported that 1133 website hits were recorded in January and 863 in February. She received a call from Olympic Dentistry after they visited our website, they expressed interest in joining KRA. Lisa Wall will follow up to get their membership information. A couple of tag lines were discussed – “We’ve got it all” or “A world of opportunity in a small neighborhood”
Member and Community Events: Sharon Samec reported that the committee has identified five events we will sponsor: Spring Clean Up in April; Golf Outing during Summer; Wine tasting in the Fall; Holiday Party in December; Farmers Market during Summer – Farmers market will have three special events.
Membership: Pam St. John made the motion to offer new members 50% reduction in the first year dues. Motion was seconded by Dianne Gearhart and carried. There was discussion about revising our new member application. Laura will work on those.
5K Run: Aram reported that he is working with various companies that offer free stuff to host the race. Also working on contracting the race starter along with a DJ from a local radio station and needs help with some of the logistics. Please hold the date of June 2nd, as we need lots of volunteers for set up Friday night June 1st and during the race Saturday A.M.
Chamber of Commerce: Strictly Business Seminar was rescheduled due to the ice storm and will now be held March 20th. Good Morning Cedar Valley event will be April 19th at Lincoln Elementary School. Special event featuring Ken Blanchard the author of The One Minute Manager will be June 7th at Gallagher Bluedorn P.A.C.
