July KRA Board Meeting Minutes

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Jay Hansen, Aram Susong, Pam St. John, L. Brent Cantrell, Lisa Wall, Bob Hoppes, Laura Hand, Dianne Gearhart, Sharon Samec, , Joan Harringa, Ron Garris, Stan Hemesath, Craig Hoffman, Bill Winder, Timi Brown, Mirriam Lake, Dan Tovar

President Aram Susong called the meeting to order.

Minutes and Treasurer’s Report from the June 12, 2007 meeting were approved (motion by Lisa Wall and second by Bob Hoppes for the minutes and Stan Hemesath and Laura Hand for the treasurer’s report).

Partners in Ed: Ron Garris noted that West High School would be appointing a new KRA partner that will join our board.

Marketing/Website: Laura reported there were 1600 visits to the website in June and the hits were 17,367. She credits the increase from the newsletter communication that went out in June.

Community Events: The giant salad event was a “giant” success manned by board members Pam A., Aram, Sharon, Laura and Dianne. Sharon has sent out a flier to the KRA membership asking for interest in a summer golf outing, if there is enough response she will set a date and make the plans. Sharon also asked if there was interest in having a fall clean up, look for further news to come. A discussion was held regarding ordering some new flags as we are getting low.

Old Business: The KRA bench project is moving forward with a new plan of action. Stan has hired Chris Stein to lay two concrete slabs at a cost of $1,100. The city is not involved with this project any longer. One bench will be placed at the Kimball/ Park Lane corner and the other further south in front of the dental office.
