AUGUST BOARD MEETING MINUTES

BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Aram Susong, Pam St. John, L. Brent Cantrell, Laura Hand, Sharon Samec, Dan Tovar, Velda Phillips, Bob Delveau, Brad Condon

President Aram Susong called the meeting to order.

Minutes and Treasurer’s Report from the July 10, 2007 meeting were approved (motion by Sharon Samec and seconded by Laura Hand for the minutes and Bob Delveau and Dan Tovar for the treasurer’s report).

Partners in Ed: No report

Marketing/Website: Laura reported continued strong activity on the website. The online petition regarding the mailbox 2:15PM pick- up time generated 108 signatures. The KRA brochure will be ready to print next month and the KRA website will be noted on the 5x5 copper plaque that will be attached to the benches

Community Events: Sharon reported that there was not enough interest in the golf outing to proceed. The flower arranging competition will be September 11th; donations for prizes are needed as well as judges. Since the spring cleanup (of the Kimball Ridge area) was such a success, a fall clean up is going to be happening on Saturday September 29 at 8:30 AM.

Membership: Several members are stopping by the new business in our area – Thompson Shoe Store to solicit for membership.

Chamber of Commerce: Velda reported that the Chamber is hosting a golf outing in Cedar Falls on August 28th at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course. On September 13th everyone is welcome to tour Landmark Commons – 7:30 AM to 9:00, breakfast will be served.

Old Business: The KRA bench project is almost complete, the cement is poured and the benches are installed. The 5 x 5 bronze plaques with our name and website are ordered.
The scouts will be putting out the flags on Labor Day and possibly on September 11th.
